Does anyone know whether there are such things as a limo stretched Rangie or Landy? I'm asking because I'm trying to track down an unusal wedding car for my wedding, and being a land rover nut I thought it might be cool.
Thanks for any help Dave

Dunsfold have a rather nice collection, including this:

There are a few out there but most I think are in private collections. You could enquire at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon to see if they know of one which is available. It's either them or Dunsfold who have a very nice stretched P38a - it might be the one top left on
There was also a great thing in one of the LR mags called a Long Ranger. It was a RaRo Classic front end with a 110 HCPU load bed welded on to the back. See
Now what's odd here is this looks real - not photoshopped. But I've not seen it before.
Does it actually go round corners? Are there 2 steering axles or is it a case of dragging it round by brute force? Judging by the tyre marks on the road I suspect the latter.
I take it there are some locking diffs in there for when a whole axle is hanging in the air? Pray tell more.

Dunsfold have a stretch rangie but aren't allowed to use it for transport services.

It is real. Was first seen at Peterborough in 2002, then won 'most original conversion' at last years' ARC National. Kevin has taken it to most of the shows last year 'cept Billing.
The distance between the back axles does give a lot of drag on the rear wheels. Kevin is now replacing the rear axle with a back-to-front front, to give rear wheel steer - if that makes sense...?
It may be for sale in the future as he's now thinking about a Mann 8x8

Aargh... it's a conspiracy...
Go on then, I know I'm going to regret asking, but how's it fitted out inside?
Martyn
:-)
I've been inside and it's kitted out remarkably well.. air con.. extractor fans and a fixed double bed with storage galore.
Martyn has more piccys here....

I don't want to buy one, I just want to park one outside the house for a day to watch the neighbours panic as they think it's a permanent addition.

Me I think a stretched 109 would be interesting.
there is a 147 inch defender at solihull that they use for taking the tours around the site. has three doors either side. but that vehicle is not registered for the road and is limited to 20mph.
cheers.
Hmm. I've always had an opinion on that one.
