I'd be tempted to replace the middle axle as you would get a lot of swing out on the rear with a rear steer probably easier to set up as well

Well, without wishing to insult the great deal of work that has gone into it, the rear body work looks like it has been tacked on as an afterthought. The window styles are different, the lockers are at a different height, resulting in a step in the trim above them.
Personally, had it been mine, I would have gone that little bit extra to make an effort at integrating the body extension, so it looked professional and more original.

'ere, how about one like this?
(would've been a radio-van body, but no bugger has a side-on picture of one)
I can certainly see the attraction, especially having those two LPG tanks. Which windscreen would you put the tax disc on, though?
Martyn
I'm not totally sure Kevin'd disagree with you really. It started off as a play, then turned into a fully fledged project 6x6. The bodywork was simply a result of what he had access to 'at the time'. I do seem to remember him saying that had he done it again, he would have had an extra attempt at a better overall finish.
Martyn
Mmm. It has that "at the time" look about it. I'd have sourced another ambulance back body and used that to make the extension myself. Still, full marks for the 6x4 effort, I still havn't started on my 6 leg project.....
Alex
I'd have thought this would be more interesting to drive......

It's a true, fully powered 6x6 (the pics of the underside don't really do it justice).
Martyn
Cool - what's the 6 wheeler behind it?
Martyn
You could always buy this one thats on ebay at the moment.
Cheers

poor turning circle though. countersteering the rear end would give you a normal 101-style turning circle.

well, if you made it counter-steer at the far end it'd be the same.
Trouble with that, you'd need a lot of strengthening in the middle of the chassis.

pity it's only a 6x4 though :-)
the 90/130 I've not yet built was gonna be a full 6x6.
I was thinking of having two steering wheels.....
Alex
Oh buggrit, why did you have to post that?
Why, why, why.... ?
I can sense the high voltage nipple-clamps reaction this would provoke. And that's just from the neighbours... :-(
It would look smashing in metalic purple though...
Hmm... How much to insure it, I wonder?
Bugger, bugger, bugger...
Martyn
Can you imagine it cresting a hill?
Wonder if he'd part exchange for a P38a?
David> Wonder if he'd part exchange for a P38a?
1) Where would you park it?2) Would your employer fire you for parking it in the car park?
