Hi,
I've been trying to remove the pulley from the V8 that I'm stripping down, but with no luck.
The engine is mounted on a stand, and I've tried an impact driver, a long extension bar, with the opposite end of the crank braced against the engine mounting points, and also (moderately) large amounts of WD40. Any other ideas?
Oh yes, and can anyone confirm that it's not counter-threaded or something like that?

Yes, a 6ft length of scaffolding pole over the bar you're using. They're just flaming tight.

impact thing is the normal. the big sod-off air ones that the garages use are good.
failing that, you need a nice strong socket handle, and impact-type socket and a hammer.
never been much impressed with those impact drivers you hit on the end, never succeeded in doing anything useful with one.
