The return of Morph :-)

Well, Mrs D spontaneously sprung on me that we could fetch Morph back from Ma and Pa's today.

Bunged on the last couple of nuts to the dip stick tube. Threw the lid on , opened the battery door (incase the starter jammed again) and then turned him over. Fired up on about the second rotation from cold having been stood foe around 4 days untouched :0)

Trundled back steady, exhaust blowing at the down pipe under load but I expected that. I've yet to tighten the bolts.

Still cruised back at 60mph along the main drag without breaking into a sweat.

Parked him up and heard a "splat hiss" from the engine bay. Turned out to be some water running into the engine bay from the passenger seat (still got the leak to fix!).... phew!

Thanks to all those who offered advice and pointers in my lowest moments of despair.

Just got to psych myself up for a trip to the petrol station now.

:-)

Glad to hear you have the Morph back to health I was beginning to wonder if the cold was keeping you away from the engine bay. Have a nice hot coffee and a choccy bikkie then try not to think about the obscene profits of petrol companies. Derek ( having strange picture in mind of that episode of Dads Army with gas balloon on Jonesey's butchers van )

Well done that man.

That is an achievement! (both the 'cruise' at 60 and the not having to sit in a sauna)

I can give you advice for installing an LPG kit if you need it ;)

I dont think i'll be able to cope with driving my 101 now after driving my car for the last month on LPG. It still feels like theyve made a mistake when i go to pay for it! I'm dreading filling the landy up over the next few days too :(

It was tempid inside. The Engine lid rubber seal helps lots as does the seals refitted around the inspection holes. I hit the scrappy on a mission :-)

Just need to make some plates to cover the old heater duct holes.. which are increadibly useful (you can get your arm through em) when rebuilding the top end.

He took me to work today :-) I was deliberating for ages.....

Laguna..101..Laguna 101...

buggerit 101.. Petrol station and MANIC GRIN .... bar skids skid too well on slush and ice, sledge like!

I'm definately up for LPG next but it will have to take it's place in the queue of "Things for Lee to do" list. Which includes at the mo some house stuph and Disco disc's. Ah well at least my driveway is semi complete again.

How noisy ? The new silencing kit I had made by noisekiller works well on Bob, a GS, on an ambi it would make a hell of a difference - and we get a club discount.

Steve uttered summat worrerz funny about:

I had a quote from Hanno for one but I know Hannos are the mutts nuts (Uses F1grade materials etc) ... I think I can still feel the bump from when my chin hit the floor.

Are they reasonable Steve?

I've been using Underlay and carpet but the trouble with that is the underlay quickly begins to degrade once it's been cooked and removed a few times. Made a very noticeable difference though.

One of my pet hates is that the overflow on the rad has a small jubilee clip. Try as I might I can't get it to stop pulling the rubber seal from the hood when I remove the lid. Am I alone in this experience?

Just been out and put a new nut and bolt on the downpipe. Much better :-) Almost luxury!

Pity Sellafield hasn't got a boot sale on this weekend, I'll bet they've got loads of that going cheap (and no need for a heater) :-)

Oy, I'd rather Sellafield kept all its lead thank you. Being 30 miles downwind in the prevailing direction... If the beggers don't notice a leak of 83 cubic meters (18,257 gallons) of Nitric Acid containing 20 tonnes of Uranium and 160kg of Plutonium for several months I want all the shielding they have kept in place.
