Did someone get out of the wrong side of Mr Cynicals bed this morning Alex?

Blummie... you don't mean...

...surely not...

it couldn't be that...

... you haven't got your compo claim in yet????

;-)

Yup. Why do you think insurance premiums have gone through the roof?

Our professional indemnity is now the price of two full time members of staff...

Tother reason people claim to be 'hurt' is that plod will be called so they have a witness and statements taken an all. Kin feckdup world we're leaving for dem pesky kids...

When some fecka reversed into Charlottes car, then decided to claim that Charlotte had driven into the back of her (in writing) I simply called the idiots hubby and asked how many other such accidents his wife had had of this kind. There was something of a pause. I then mentioned that the CCTV tape* could be passed to his insurers and the police as evidence of a false claim, ergo: fraud.

He agreed that paying for a repair at the main dealer was a good idea, together with a full valet and 2 days car hire for Charlotte (new Freelander with 380 odd miles on it - bag of s**te, BTW). Shame really, as I'd have had it done for far less at Warrens had she simply said sorry and offered to pay for the repair.

  • There was no CCTV tape.

On some other occasion in another car when an idiot came off a roundabout too soon and put a dent into my wing there was much argument. Actually the idiot in question was the girlfriend of the passenger who assumed all responsibility for arguing whose fault it was.

In the event I had my mum and my brother in the car who both were able to produce statements as to the true sequence of events, noli contendere, I was not at fault

Unfortunately these days I drive alone.

Sad as it sounds, I ALWAYS have a camera in my car. Not for this reason, I like taking pictures, but it helps no-end!

Nige

It has alwasy amused me how often on the internet people say 'im leaving', and then come back later.

(no offence intended)

No, someone has had dealings with the Fuzz on too many occasions for no good reason....

On or around Thu, 02 Sep 2004 22:53:32 +0100, Mother enlightened us thusly:

which didn't happen in this case, so |I doubt he got far. Classic knock-for-knock, anyway.

"If you don't produce your licnece by 12.00pm tonight I will arrest you" - thats what the bloke at the Station said - who am I to disagree? More importantly though, why was I, an innocent party, being required to do anything at all? Until this incident I was the only fan the Police had where I live, aka Beirut, indeed my willingness to assist them led to another incident, which could have led to a well know little s**t getting his long over-due comeuppance, but just ended up with me in hospital, my girlfriend scared to leave the house, my neighbour and her kids threatened, threats to burn my house down, and a weekend show's worth of business lost. I'm not anti-Police, but I am pretty pi**ed off!

You miss the point - I had done nothing wrong wrong, I was trying to help the Police, and I was getting grief for it. Why should I have been required to produce anything anywhere?

Just like everyone else ;-) I don't balme you.

That wasn't quite what your wording implied, but there we go.....

Quite - I was trying to do "the right thing" - I ended up threatened with arrest, lost two Sunday afternoons (my only time off work) and the offender was not inconvenienced at all.

7.87 inc VAT for the A Post half, I've not got a price for the door half until the supplier opens at 9.00am

Richard

None taken - just fancied a look round to see what goes on here these days.
