V8 timing + lpg

normally reckon to go about 6 degrees more advance than unleaded setting for LPG on a thing with no "ignition box", which leaves it running OK but sub-optimum on petrol when you need it.

If you can get info from RPi, then set it at that, if not, try about 6 degrees as above and see how it runs, if it still runs well on petrol, try another 3 degrees advance and see how it goes then. They key test normally is to floor it in 4th or 5th at about 1000 rpm on petrol and see if you hear any pinking (if it's doing it, you'll notice). This a sign that you've gone a bit too far.

When i turn my car too far advanced it pinks on LPG when coasting down hills at speed (when there is maximum engine vacuum according to my gauge). 6 degrees adv is about where i ended up (though this is not a v8!)
