It was me, not a welder but 240ac generator. This welder looks like a nice piece of kit, thanks for the pointer.

IIRC you can get a kit to go from 110V to 240V, or I think automate sell a 240v version of this equipment too.
When I saw the ebay item I did a (very) quick google search but could not find any links to any equipment called automate / dynapac relating to vehicle power systems. I would be interested in finding out some more about it.

The company that makes automate is, iirc, based in yate just outside bristol, I know, cos i've been there and have a couple of the units ;)
