vm diesel engine?

The VM diesel isn't the worst diesel LR have used, but it's close. If cared for they're OK, but they have a tendency to blow head gaskets.

Any good boils down to regular maintainance - Favorite problem is head gasket blowing - This is in the main due to the head bolts requiring retightening ever 40000 miles. Not many bother hence the head gaskets blow. On paper these are better than the Rover TDi's, they are cheap to buy because those not in the know steer clear.

As for the fit. It will need appropriate adaption, best to put in the right gearbox. (Jag lump fits so a VM should do no problem!)

Think i'll stick with the worse engine they made then (2.5td) siezed it up last sunday while being very stuck. left it ticking over while trying to find some assistance some thing must of floated into the fan belt, it threw it off, over heated then stopped. Yet to investigate properly but no water in cylinders so the head may be still ok,i just there's not t5oo much damage else where but knowing my look!

rebore and pistons at worst I guess, cast head and block should be able to take an overheat.
