was " motivation needed"

hiya,

just to update you all.

the planned 4 day job took considerably longer, (surprise, surprise)

and after slicing the old half chasis off and prepairing the new one by welding plates where the big gaps are at the start of the triangular end bits, and capping it off right at the end, fully welding all the seams and undersealing the inside,

we measured, checked, measured checked, alterd, checked and mesured again, then tacked it on and measured again before fully welding it on.

when the tub was offerd up, it was 1mm out at both ends. not bad really.

no fishplates yet and ive took it accross a field or two and up and down a few hills and all seems ok so far.

gues the next step is to put my caravan on the back which weighs in at about a ton, and see if it will pull ok.

the doors dont fit, but then they never did. i think the bulkheads moved, so im thinking of finding a sturdy tree and with my ratchet straps........... i think you can guess the rest, itll either straighten it or pull it off.

but what the hell,, its a landrover.

regards

andy
