Wtd: Blanking plate from V8

Morph has a Compressor fitted which I'm due to remove. The Oil return mounts on a casting bolted where the manual fuel pump used to live on early V8 engines.



Has any one got a later V8 which they are breaking as I need a blanking plate which goes over the oriface for the manual fuel pump / 101 compressor oil return. It's situated to the right of the dizzy on the side of the block and has two bolts / studs holding it on.



Hopefully I'll be fitting the compressor to a PTO one day but right now it's being a PITA as it prevents me from getting to the dizzy clamp bolt. This wouldn't normally be an issue but it's loose and the dizzy needs resetting every 200 miles. I suspect they sorted this problem after Morph as he was a prototype Ambi , maybe using a longer drivebelt and modified bracket.

Evening to you why don't you just get a bit of ally sheet and cut the required shape and bobs your uncle it is blanked off!!!!!!!!!! have done this several times and with a new gasket it works fine. Rich

The thought crossed my mind, it's more a time thing at the mo than the willingness ... what sort of thickness of plate would you recommend...am I right in thinking that this return is not under pressure?

I'm gonna take my compressor off aswell, so i might need one too?. Is it not a blanking plate that can be made up out of a nice flat bit of metal with some holes drilled thru, and a diy gasket? The V8 we have in the garage might have one on that i/you can borrow to make a template if you like. Will have a look in my manual and the garage later.. Youre welcome to look at my drivebelts and brakets to see if theyre different if you like..
