Re: Touch up paint

Most touch up paint is too thick. You need to thin it a bit and work it in to the edges of the chip with your fingertip, if you don't mind getting dirty.... Then apply another layer to fill a bit. Practice makes perfect. If you don't like it the first time, wipe it off and do it again. Just thin a bit before you start. Good Luck John

What's the best way to use touch up paint? Clean the car, wipe it on? > Seems to easy...any tricks or gotchas? > > >

After a thorough cleaning, take a match and cut it at an angle with scissors. Dip the pointed end into the paint and "dab" in the chip indentation avoiding getting it on the other painted surfaces.

Lacquer thinner.

No need to thin it. The thick "dab" of paint will fill the chip indentation. With thinning, you risk paint running.
