Does anyone know if Lexus will do the update to cars past the warranty period for free? There should be 2 free upgrades. Does it need to be the original owner?

FYI, the dealer where I bought the update wanted another $90 (beyond the price of the updated DVD) to pop the DVD into the player.
Because it was an evolving technology, the '98 GS/LS with nav got three free updates to the HD database within the 4yr/50,000 mile warranty and the '99 got two. No more free updates starting with the '00.

I still don't understand why a dealer would want to charge $90 to pop a DVD into the navigation unit.
