1999 Fiesta heated rear screen contact block

Could someone please tell me how the contact pin block is removed from the tailgate,is it just prised out? Any idea how much a new block is?

Up to '95 according to the manual, you remove the trim, then undo the two screws retaining the contact switch.

To remove the trim you had to undo seven plastic retaining screws, but I don't know if that applies to later models.

They are about a tenner, they prise out on the one I did recently but that was a 96. The casing melts and gets stuck though, so some force is needed sometimes. Buy a new bit first and the attachment is obvious.

I bought the pins and the block £19.00 & £12.00 each, the pins have two screws that need to be loosened and the whole lot can be removed, the block just prises out, five minute job.
