I have just bought a 2001 Scenic Expression 1.6 Auto, which has done 24500 miles.
I sense a "hesitancy" when accelerating, which almost feels like a slight misfire, and this is most noticeable when cold.
A friend tells me this may be a coil stick going, or it could just be tuning, but the car was supposedly fully serviced before I picked it up last weekend.
Has anyone else experienced a similar symptom? I understand the coil stick problem is common, and that they are not cheap, but hopefully if it is one going it will be covered by the warranty.
Who is best to take the car to for an honest opinion, - a Renault main dealer, or an auto electrical outfit like Lucas? If the Renault coil sticks are known for regular early failure, does anyone make a better replacement?
Any advice much appreciated.
