Astra 1.7td CAM BELT CHANGE (isuzu)

Mar 06, 2005 4 Replies

All, I am in the process of repairing my 1996 Astra 1.7td (isuzu engine). I have now got the head off and in for a pressure check and skim if all is well.

I want to replace the Cam Belt but it looks like I will have to take the engine mount off ?! Is this correct or is there any other way ?

Cheers in advance, Gary

engine).

If it's anything like my 1990 Astra (fitted to with the Vauxhall engine) then it's just a question of undoing a couple of bolts, lowering the engine on a Jack and threading the belt through. The fun comes when you actually have to replace that particular engine mount.

It's not the difficult bit, just sit the engine on the jack very carefully.
