could someone please tell me of a supplier by mail order of big end bearings for a mg rover montego regards mick.

Can't help with a mail order supplier, but try asking your nearest engine rebuilder. They get large discounts on shell bearings, pistons etc. They might be prepared to get them for you with only a slight markup. Could also be worth trying a motor factor. Mike.
Look in your yellow pages under 'motor factors' and make some phone calls.
Look on the bright side, anyone who makes shells for rover cars must be making the replacement parts better than they were originally made!

You'd normally get them from the place that regrinds the crank. Replacing bearings without doing this is pretty pointless.
