Power Steering Fluid - Ford Mondeo

Apr 27, 2004 2 Replies

I recently had a leaking power steering cooler replaced on my 'S' reg Mondeo deisel which meant that the power steering oil had to be replaced. I notice that the oil level in the resevoir is virtually at the top of the cylindrical portion where the oil is poured into which is about 4 cm or so inches above the max mark. The max and min marks are only about 5 mm apart and I am concearned that something could happen with it being overfilled as it is

Any comments ?

Just take the surplus out. Overfilling doesn't affect or damage p/s systems, but fluid might get vented out into the engine bay. Messy if nothing else. Mike.
