BMW X5 and tree

Jan 18, 2007 7 Replies

outside work tonight - a nice black X5 with a silver birch tree at 45 degrees resting on it, just by the drivers door handle. Each time the wind blew the suspension danced and the alarm went off again. Firemen came BUT I didn't have a camera handy . . what a shame

Ah, is that the rancid stench of envy I smell? Still, console yourself with the fact that the person you're jealous of is almost certainly insured for the damage and will claim, thus adding to your (assuming you're old enough to drive...) own insurance premium.

no, just black humour - knowing that even folks with such nice cars aren't immune from reality. Old enough to pay insurance premiums??? Been paying them on my vehicles for 35+ years I'm afraid . . .

Is that, like, "Desmond's"?

Are you sure it was the wind....

How did you work that one out? My premium will go down next year if I don't claim. At worst it will stay the same. It's called shopping around.

Please provide the maths on how everyones premium will rise as a result of that drivers claim.

The more claims, the more costs to the insurance companies, the higher premiums. It's not rocket science.

So this X5 driver claims a lot does he?
