Couple of questions for the experts. Do the Corsa (L reg) discs float or are they held in place by the castle nut that holds the wheel bearing in, and is there a sequence for tightening the rocker cover down and what is the torque for the bolts. Is it advisable to use gasket sealer when fitting a new gasket.

The discs do not float, they are held solid by the wheel being bolted on.
Assuming you have an ordinary petrol GM engine, then use a genuine gasket, no sealant and just use a very short spanner and nip up in a round the bolts from the middle sequence till you can feel the bolt go tight, it is only about 10 lbft. The rocker cover has little tubes that protrude through the gasket and keep the proper compression distance for the gasket. If you have a filter in the rocker cover then replace that at the same time.

So with the caliper removed the discs should come straight off?

Some models will have a small allen or torx bolt to retain the disc, if that is out or not present then the disc is free to slide off, if it won't then it will be rusted on and will need persuading .
two different diesels are in common vauxhall use, but I expect yours has the isuzu 1.5 diesel, camcover bolts are tightened down to 8nm, I cant remember ever doing one of these, but since it is japanese it is probably very straightforward.
