Most Saturdays I do a round trip of about 60 miles, with a couple of stops of 15 minutes or so - just for a bit of background.
Five times now, the eml has come on at about the the same place on the final 20 mile leg of the trip. This doesn't happen every week - it did go for three or four weeks with no problem - but has happened on the last two Saturdays. It has not come on at any other time although I do
200+ miles/week.
The last three times I have had my code reader with me. There is no code but I suspect that's an incompatibility issue rather than anything else as the Rover's non-standard as I understand it. It has shown a correct code in the past - cylinder 4 misfire - but that's been cleared up.
Anyway, having immediately reset the light, it doesn't reappear until I'm on the same stretch again. This morning I reset it and went back and drove the same stretch again, but it didn't reappear !
It's not a big issue, but I do wonder if this, what appears to be a external factor, is a known issue with some ECUs as it's difficult to see it's connected with the car, unless it's to do with run-time. I could I suppose, take it on a hour outing somewhere and see if that replicates the issue. Just interested really.
