Engine specialist.

I'm about to rebuild a spare engine for the SD1 and at the minimum will need the bores honed and the crank polished - but obviously would like them checked for wear first. Anyone recommend an engine specialist within reasonable distance of here - London SW12? One that could do any machining as necessary and supply rings and shells etc. Last time I re-conned an engine I used Prince Engineering in Kingston - but that was over 20 years ago. ;-)

There is (or possibly used to be) a place on Lavender Hill /St John's Hill in Wandsworth that looked like it belonged in the 1950s, complete with gormless apprentice. Probably an Estate Agent's shopfront now.

ken at regal engines in Purfleet (just through the Dartford tunnel and turn left, or blackwall and turn right) could help, ring him on 01708 867190

- RPI engineering will sort it out for you.

IIRC Board Bros. Don't think they're there anymore.

They're in Norwich. I don't really see the point in travelling that sort of distance or paying the considerable carriage costs for basic engine work.

Naismith in Wimbledons fairly close.

I'll sort you out Dave if you don't mind a trip up the A40 to sunny Chalfont.

ufindus.com shows them as still being there, but may be out of date info:

Board Bros. Tel: 020 72288136 - 103 St. Johns Hl, London, SW11 1SY
