Fiat oil cooler pipes - help!!

I have a leaking oil cooler pipe on my 1998 Fiat Marea 2.4TD. Fiat have quoted me £163 to supply the two pipes!!

I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere that I could get them made up. This is what they look like...

The union where they join the cooler/engine is just held in place with an allen bolt. The pipes are made of what looks like steel with hydraulic hose in the middle section.

Thanks in advance

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember Frank P saying something like:

Look in Yellow Pages and find a Hydraulic Hose supplier - they can make any oily hose up from stock parts.

Is the leak on the flexible section? If so, cut this section out and replace with a piece of stainless braided hose from

have replaced many oil cooler lines in this way, both on cars and bikes. You can buy lengths of plain hose and fit using 'Pro clamps' (like a jubilee clip in a nice anodised ali shell. JB

No, the leak is coming from the metal part - it's corrode away. It's in a place that gets exposed to a lot of road salt in the winter.

Could it be brazed?

There must be plenty of 1998 cars in scrappies by now.

Or you could visit a hydraulic hose suppliers with the complete arrangement (metal pipes and all) to see if they have the rigfht ends to fit the pump and cooler direct, and just have stainless hoses all the way.

There's a hydraulics specialist just down the road here, if you're anywhere near Cardiff!

Seconded. The one in Hull does it while you wait. You need to take the old pipe, including unions.
