About 3-4 times what the car's worth.
HTH.

You don't know what's the cars is worth.
What is numbers is it going to cost??????
Michael ( snipped-for-privacy@yourbusiness.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :
It's a K-reg Escort. It's worth f*ck all.
We know _exactly_ what the car is worth. At most £250 with 12 months ticket and working fuel pump.
I bet he could give a fair estimation given average condition and mileage
Didn't you ask Ford? I would.

Yes I do. F*ck all.
Lots. Look at the other thread "Car Repair Bill $$$$$" about another numpty that decided to use a Ford main dealer.

That's £275 more than I'd give for a Mk5 (non RS) Escort or Onion.
"SteveH in overvaluing car shocker" ;-)
To be honest, there are lots of people out there who'll buy a MkV Escort for that kind of money, though.
Well the fuel pump alone will cost at least £150 from ford. Then you've got the labour to drain, remove and refit tank. Also the chances are there will be other bits that will need replaced, due to corrosion (ie. tank straps - very likely to snap when trying to remove)
Certainly more than the cars worth.
There are people out there that like Alfa 33s... ;-)
S*it! I thought you guys were just taking the p? So this must be a different 'fuel pump' to the one that is sitting on the side of my Kent and Pinto lumps. Is this one of those ones where the fuel actually flows *through* the motor body (like on an XR3i (was it?))
All the best ..

They must be out of their tiny minds. My L-reg mondeo (in good nick) cost me the grand sum of £300, 6 months test and tax. Granted, the extra 6 months tax is worth £80 or so, but the Mondeo is an infinitely better car than the Scrote.
yes, but it is inside the tank IIRC 200 quid IIRC

Its a piece of cake to replace yourself - just buy the part. Did one several years ago - can't recall the price but it was pretty cheap.
Isn't this the car you flooded the other day?
N Reg Escorts are fetching =A3200 at best at Hull Auctions.

Opinions personal, facts suspect.
Yeah. Rac says no fuel getting through
Allus thought people in Hull paid too much for cars. (after seeing someone shell out £1100 for a seven year old nail of a clio.)
Oh jheez. So you are into £150 for the fuel pump and then you will find it wasn't the fuel pump but a stuffed connector, or ECU, or maybe the relay or....
Do yourself a favour and check for sparks first. If you haven't got them don't bother with the fuel pump and scrap the poor thing.
