Can anyone help ?, I have a Ford Escort 1.6si five door1996. There is a problem with the central locking system, on occasins the drivers door lock will not work, inserting the key and turning does absolutely nothing. If I then unlock the passage door it unlocks and then immediately locks again. So next I unlock the passenger door and open it quickly before it locks, this make all the locks on the car continously lock and unlock. This continues until I reach inside and open the drivers door. Everything then goes back to normal!.
This problem is only intermitant and is driving me crazy.... I took the car into a ford dealer but was unable to recreate the problem and it was therefore not fixed.
Any ideas ?
