ford sierra xr4x4 starting problem - please help

Jan 09, 2004 1 Replies

i have a 1986 ford sierra 2.8i xr4x4. it starts fine from cold. but if you run it until warm, stop the engine and leave it for 20 mins or so it wont start again. it turns, but will not fire. any ideas? ive looked at the haynes manual and possible there is a problem with the i) fuel accumulator ii) fuel start valve iii) thermotime switch or iv) the impulse module.

has anyone else had this problem? its driving me insane trying to fix it

please post replies here. my email address is dead

thanks

dave

Check for spark at plug or coil king lead when it wont start. If no spark- HEI unit on distrubutor is dead.
