On my coded Vauxhall / Philips radio, you press channel 1, enter the first digit of the code with the tune up/down buttons, pressing channel 1 again after each digit. The last time you press 1, it comes to life. It's almost as hard as remembering the code to remember the sequence.

If you get it wrong on mine, the time you must wait before your next try doubles.

If you have the code certificate, look on the back as there should be some clue there.
