Hopefully someone here shoul be able to help! What is the name of the thing that some smaller garages have to let them know a vehicle has come on to the forecourt. Usually there is a black pipe snaking over the forecourt, and when something drives over it, then a bell rings in the office/shop. Also....where can I get one. Thanks, strange question I know. Med

Incredibly crude these days. Easier to use an IR beam or similar.
True enough. I have a pir sensor which sends a radio signal to a receiver in the house. Battery powered and each unit the size of a ciggie packet (suppose that expression will be non pc soon). When the transmitter is triggered the unit in the premises chimes. Cost £6.99 from one of those general everything shops. DaveK.
Not seen one of those for 30 years!
