So, the Clio I posted about a while back.
"Don't worry about the timing belt" etc.
Well, I've been trying to find a garage that won't rip me off. There's a belt in the car, but I haven't had time to have a go at fitting it myself.
And today, the belt snapped. Car jut appeared to have lost the thottle cable; just died. No clonks, rattles or anything.
It's been towed to a mate's house where it may get the belt replaced and we'll see if it works again afterwards...
But...
FFS. If you can get it done, GET IT DONE. Banger or not. The belt going negated new tyres (needed) and new brakes (needed) that I'd done to the car already.
61,000 miles. But twice the interval recommended.
Siani's driving a loaned Fiesta Diesel now.
