M.O.T and Possible Steering Fault

Feb 10, 2007 4 Replies

Just wondered if anyone can help me out. I have a old Cavalier, when I turn hard right I get a a funny rubbing noise come from underneath on the righthand side. Anyone know what this might be and if it will be an instant fail on the MOT as this is coming up in the next few weeks. The car is a Vauxhall Cavalier 1991, 1.8ls Thanks

Is it a rumble or a rapid clicking?

Clicking, get faster with speed.

Cheers

They often break the anti roll bar link, this can make very odd noises.

Sounds like the CV joint. Not sure if that in itself is an MoT failure (should be, but don't know how they'd spot it without driving it), but if the boot is damaged (which I suspect it is if it's making noise) then it's a fail.
