HI all,
I have done my Pug 206 HDI's 12K mile service today (Engine code DW10TD) and thsi has a common rail with a Bosch fuel injection pump
I removed the cover of my diesel fuel filter housing, exposing the paper element.
I removed said paper element and drained fuel filter via drain valve.
I noticed fine metal filings in the bottom of the fuel filter housing.
Is this a case of the filter doing its job as it should do or should I not expect to see metal filings inside teh fule filter housing?
Where would these metal filings come from if then are not supposed to be there?
In the meantime I have rinsed the fuel filter housing clean of the metal filings and reassembled with a new diesel filer element.
Looking forward to the replies....
Stephen
