METRO

Just a quick question, most probably an obvious answer, on tick over and revving sounds fine but soon as power is need to pull away sounds like the exhaust is blowing, had exhaust checked not that, says it might be the gasket from pipes to the engine.

Any ideas, many thanks.

Quite common on that engine.

Look at the air filter. When the manifold gasket goes they suck in soot up the hot air pipe and soot up the filter really quickly.

if it sounds like the exhaust is blowing then it sounds like the exhaust is blowing mate. where did you take it to be checked? they should have checked the manifold too to see where its blowing from. try holding your hand over the tailpipe (may be advisable to wear a glove) and see if you can hear where its blowing from. dont do it for more than a few seconds though.
