Hi All,
The Mrs (she who mildly pranged the 93 Astra a month ago and we have since learned wrote off both cars) has just phoned to say has tripped in the petrol station and sheared the plastic petrol filler cap off ...
Now on that it's the only lockable bit to the filling system so we would either need to get a new / another door, me repair this one or get a locking filler cap.
Anyone any ideas what sort of job this is please (as I believe it's remotely locking) and where would be the most likely place for a replacement (if it comes as a complete unit, with remote lock I guess it might be expensive new from the main dealer)?
Cheers, T i m
p.s. I think we are going to accept their £375 as the write-off value (minus £100 excess but nothing extra to keep the vehicle). We did counter it but they have come back with the same offer and currently I can't find many examples of much at a better price either.
So, as it's roadworthy and even with the minor dent on the n/s/f wing and it would probably go through an MOT with ease (it did a couple of months ago) do we actually have to get it fixed before getting this 'Identity check' thing done or can we just get that and possibly an MOT done and do the repair if we want at our convenience please?
