New Nissan Micra 1.2SE (Engine Cuts Out)

Hello All,

A friend who is not on the internet has just telephoned me, she has a problem with a new Nissan Micra 1.2SE she bought 7 months ago.

The car was ok for a few weeks then a problem started, she had driven about

10mile on the open road, the car started to misfire, this got worse until the engine stopped. The car was towed back to the Main Nissan dealer where it was bought, they tested the car and made an adjustment and said that the car would now be ok.

A few days later the same thing happened again, the car was towed back to the garage, they tested the car and said the fault was the timing module, which was replaced with a new one.

Today the same thing happened again, car started to misfire, this got worse and then the engine cut out, the computer on the dash says "Engine Management Problem". The engine can be started but after a few yards the engine misfires and cuts out. The car has been towed back to the main Nissan dealer in this area. It is now left on their forecourt.

I wonder if anyone knows if this is a problem with the new Nissan Micra 1.2SE the car has only done a few hundred miles, could this just be a one off fault which has now happened 3 times, or has anyone else had this problem ?

Any help and advice appreciated,

Thank you,

Richard G

Gosh I expected something better of Nissan. If this is a new car I'd be down at the dealer jumping up and down on someones head until they fixed it.
