Nissan Almera Starting problem

Jan 08, 2004 2 Replies

Hello all,

My girlfriend's R reg Almera has been having problems on tickover lately, occasionally it splutters and dies... it runs perfectly well apart from this. But, it has now decided not to start. It turns over like a treat, and there is a spark from the plug but no starting.

My problem is that I'm on the other side of the country at the moment and can't get back to try to fix it until next week.

The question is; is it likely just to be a blocked fuel filter? And is it likely for a blocked fuel filter to affect tickover but not normal running speeds.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

Wont be a blocked fuel filter causing problems at tickover.

If you have a no start situation- can you get a friend to identify if you have fuel or ignition as a starting point?

Tim..

There is a spark. How do you safely test for fuel?

Pete
