Hi all, I have a Nissan primera 2000 on a W plate, to the left of the handbrake is a switch with a picture of a car on it. This switch is on the opposite side of the handbrake to the headlamp adjuster switch, do any of you out there know what this switch does? I've pressed it and nothing appears to happen? I'd be very grateful for any information you have. Simon.

Well for the boot lid probably. Does it show an open boot on the picture logo?
Not a picture of a car with the boot lid upright is it? - perhaps unlocks the boot?
We have a 2000/W Primera in the family too - excellent car! Is the switch the one with the car superimposed on an X symbol, with an alarm type graphic in the middle of the car? If so, it switches off the interior alarm sensors (ultrasonic, microwave etc) when the alarm is set. It's so you can lock children, pets and anything else that moves inside the car without them triggering the alarm. Although i suppose that if they nudge the hazard warning switch, or do anything else which draws electricity, they will still set it off!

Thanks, that's the one!! I've had the car about 3 weeks and it's been annoying me not knowing what the switch was for. Thanks again I knew someone would know the answer. Simon.
