Hi, my Omega V6 has started running hot, checked water for oily deposits etc, which there was none. After a journey, it obviously get so hot the water in the expansion tank over flows and I get all the water in a big puddle under the car, thus the tank needs topping up on average once a week by about a litre. There is no performance loss or white smoke/steam from the exhaust, the viscose fan cuts in ok, so I don't think it's a head gasket blown. What it suggests to me is the thermostat is buggered, but on this engine I can't find the water pump, assuming that's where the thermostat is. What I would like to do is remove the thermostat and run it and see if that makes any difference and /or replace it.
Could anyone enlighten me on where the damned thermostat is! Or if anyone else has had similar problems, or a nice kind mechanic out there who knows exactly what's wrong.
Thx in advance
Dave
