I'm borrowing a van for a few days from a friend, currently neither my nor his insurance covers me.
What would be the cheapest way to insure me for a few days? Does anyone do insurance on a daily basis?

Yeah your mate just needs to ring his insurance company and have you put on for a few days (but most will put you on for a week minimum). Will cost betweeon zero and fifteen quid depending on ages, history etc etc.
Or you can ring yours and have a temporary additional vehicle added to your policy. Similar cost and conditions.
