My '98 Peugeot 406 2.1L TD with 75000 miles on the clock has started making a creaking noise when I do a hard right. By hard right I mean the steering wheel is locked and won't go any further or just before that. This only happens going forwards, and doesn't happen when I do a hard left. Everything else is fine, but I was wondering what may cause the noise, potential complications and the approximate cost to fix this :-) Also, any decent independent garages in mid-Somerset (Glastonbury area) that I could have this checked out at? :)
