Peugot 106 Electrical Problem

Feb 13, 2005 1 Replies

Just bought a '95 Peugot 106 Diesel for my wife to get to the station. Car is generally in pretty good condition.

There was a problem with the rear lights - turned the lights on and the brake lights cam on as well. Somebody had put a single filament bulb in a double filament bulb socket, shorting the brake lights to the rear lights!

Still a minor problem with the reversing light. 12V is sent to the socket fine when the gears are put into reverse but there is very little current. The required 21W bulb doesn't light and a 5W bulb glows only dimly. All the rest of the lights in the cluster work fine.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like the current's returning to earth along an odd path - given the fuckwittage that's gone on with the brake/tail bulb, I'd be playing swapsies with all the bulbs in the cluster. Hardly an expensive exercise.
