Just had new big ends and mains fitted because of faulty oil pump (pump also replaced) . When car is cold it starts without a problem but when engine is warm it wont turn over, had battery checked and that's ok. When engine has cooled down after about 20 mins it turns over and starts ok. Anybody had this problem or is it just due to the engine still being a bit tight after rebuild? (done 100 miles since rebuild)
any ideas??

Take it back to who ever did the job- it shouldnt be this tight when hot.

Could be the starter motor losing power when it's hot. This commonly affected Fiestas and Escorts.
Clean up all the connections to the starter as a first step. A trick that once got me away from a petrol station in my Fiesta when this happened was running water over the starter until it cooled down. If that works for you too then you've found the problem.
The only way to find out if the engine itself is tightening up is to measure the turning force hot and cold with a torque wrench on the crank pulley nut.

Surely if it was this tight then there would be a noticeable loss of power, and possibly other symptoms, when hot?
