Primera 2.0 easily stalling

I have had a slight problem at low revs/idle speed. Looking on the peugeot 205gti websites (appropriate for me) it says poor starting and wobbly idle speeds can be put down to the distributor. Alternativly a good tune-up might sort it out!

Never had your problem yet on my '97 Primera 2.0, but casting my mind back to posts I've read, these seem likely FWIW .....

IAC valve dirty, sticking. Leaking vacuum hose, or some hose/other valve gunged up. Not that common on the P11, '96-'99 engines. Non NGK plugs used. Other makes are great when new but usually seem to have a longer reach which isn't ideal in the SR20 engine and they foul up. HT leads occasionally fail, probably because the plugs haven't been changed in ages and the gap is too wide=higher voltage. I suppose the distributor cap/rotor arm could also erode at >100k mileages, it's not common to even take the cap off in it's lifetime though. Crappy petrol. Mine doesn't like Tesco petrol and I hate to think what would happen if I run it on it full-time.

What symptoms do you get with Tesco petrol? And what's the difference between Tesco and any other petrol?
