I have purchased a Megane 5 door 1.4 exp with 26000 miles, the service is due and I want to know about the gearbox. The gear change is relatively smooth but whilst driving in each gear, the lever does tend to 'dance around' It does not pop out of gear at all. Could anyone tell me what is likely to be the problem before I take it into be seen too. And any idea on pricing I shoud know before getting it fixed? Thanks

Without looking at the car, i;d say one of the engine mounts is broken / loose??

Seconded. Mike.
It's a Megane. Everyone I've ever worked on has done that. Don't know if they were always like that from new, but I've never had any owners complain about it, or ever found anything obviously wrong (other than the fact it's french) that would cause the problem.
