Renault Scenic Expression "Y" Reg.

May 28, 2004 2 Replies

Hi,

I have this car from auction and it has done 37500 miles on the clock. Some times when the gear changes, it jerks a little especially when slowing down.

I have changed the oil but there seems to be no air filter or is there a unit that you just replace?

Where is the gearbox oil check rod? When should I change the gear box oil please?

It has air conditioning and does the gas needs refilling please?

Can I do it myself or take it to a specialist?

Is this a manual or auto? If its an auto and it jerks slowing down and coming to a halt, then "they all do this".- Also Renault autos are far from the best in the world, if you start experiencing other problems wiht the box- get shot of the car quickly!!!

Would help if you told us which engine you have?! Yes there is a paper element you replace on all models- its location and ease of service depends on the engine fitted.

Auto or manual? Again if its an auto- every year. Never mind what renault say.

Usually around about 2-3 yr intervals if you exercise the air con throughout the year. If you dont the seals dry out, the gas leaks alot more quickly. I would recommend you have the a/c engaged at all times to get maximum time between regasses. Around here its £60-70 for a re gas, towards the capital ~£100 ish.
