Rust prevention

The sunroof on my SD1 is fairly rotten. It's a single skin of steel on apressed steel frame, and it has rusted from the inside out, apparentlyfrom where the frame traps water.They're not available new, but I've found a good secondhand one. In thewrong colour, of course. What would be the definitive way to treat itagainst future rust before passing it on to the bodyshop for spraying inthe correct colour?

It depends on how good a surface finish you need, if you don't mind reflatting a couple of coats of primer then it's straightforward. But every time I've had something done the local one's pointed out a cheaper & better solution to me.

Thanks, Duncan. I'll phone a few local ones. I'd rather not have to send the things by carrier - and get them back bent double. ;-)
