Seized Brake Caliper and Poor running engine

Hi I have just purchased a 1997 Peugeot 306 (1360cc) with only 23000 miles from my mother in law. It is a great car but I have a few problems to sort out.

Firstly I think I have a siezed front brake caliper. What is the best way to free this up?

Secondly, the car has only really done short journies and the engine needs a good clean out. It can stall occasionally and idles a little rough at times - it is fine while driving Would it benefit from a change of spark plugs? What about those bottles of chemicals (Redex etc.) that advertise that they clean fuel system and engine etc. Would it be worth trying some of these? Are they any good? Any recomendations or suggestions? Thanks TS

To truly do it properly, the best way is to fit a reconditioned one. You may get away with pushing the piston all the way back and greasing up the sliders.

Italian tune up. Take it out for a rode and thrash the living daylights out of it, revving it really high on each gearchange. And no, I'm not kidding.
