Cat D - Repairable (inc.Stolen/Recovered).

A damaged vehicle that the insurer has decided not to repair, but which can be repaired and returned to the road. The vehicle can be safely and economically repaired either by the motor trade or by an enthusiast using cheaper parts and reduced labour costs. These often have very little damage and are vehicles which have been replaced under ?new for old? insurance schemes or settled quickly to minimise hire charges.

No. Why would you? The car has been writted off at some point in it's history, and judged as Cat D. Unless you find a time machine and get the then owner to go home via a different route on that day, you can't change that.

OK Thanks for that info..one last point does this cat d paperwork specify what was damaged or done?Does the repair have to be noted somehow as being ok or is the mot cert enough evidence of roadworthiness?

Tks for your help
