Stearing to the left

The message from "Sandra" contains these words:

Most cars do it very slightly due to the camber in the road (the way the surface droops down to the gutter) but if it's bad or if it does it on a flat surface like a carpark then you've a problem.

First of all check the tyres - uneven inflation can cause this.

Second, check that particularly the front tyres are the same make and type. I've found this can cause serious pulling to one side, though others may not agree on this.

Thirdly, tracking, which is the way in which the wheels are made to all point the same way when the steering wheel's held straight. If this is off it can cause a pull, though it's not normally that 'cos it kind of evens itself out between the sides.

Fourthly suspension geometry. Car wheels lean slightly and the line round which they steer isn't vertical and doesn't fall exactly in the middle of the wheel. Kerbing it hard or accident damage can put this out of alignment.

Finally the brakes binding may cause this - if one wheel (not tyre, wheel) is hot after a run with little braking then you've a stuck braking caliper - the bit which squeezes the brake pads onto the brake disc.

I think that's it!

First two and last one are cheap and easy to diagnose - third and fourth will need special measuring equipment usually found at a tyre shop.

Have you had new tyres on the front recently. Strange but true if the tyre fitter swaps the left for the right and vice versa then the pull goes away. This has worked for me a couple of times on different cars over the past few years.

Otherwise it will be one of the other problems the other poster has posted.

it was the driver side tyre, was egging in the middle, if anybody knows what that means, it is fine now i had a new tyre.

Do you mean on one sidewall? It's usually a good sign that the tyre's been kerbed badly.
