Sticking car lock solenoid

Apr 29, 2006 2 Replies

My Rover Metro 96 has central locking, but the motor in the drivers side door won't stay open, when I attached it, it opens then immediately closes again.

I went to the junk yard, got a 'new' lock, same problem.

One mechanic said there might be a short somewhere or the buttons to show the back doors are closed might be misfunctioning.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Sounds like a fault in the control unit.

The rear doors don't normally have any switches or feedback to the controller. If one jams, etc, it simply doesn't work.

Thanks for the info
