T.O.A.D. Alarm system

Nov 29, 2003 4 Replies

Hi,

I have a few electrical problems with my car, my alarm sustem (TOAD one) intermittently dies, and a red LED by my gear shifter comes on when it does...(led is not mentioned newhere in alarm booket or vauxhall manual, but it usually flashes to show alarm is enabelled after you lock the car) Another related problem is that when the led comes on after the alarm has died, sometimes when i start the car the alarm bleeps at me? I suspect that it could all just be battery related, and maybe i should replace the battery?, but the car generally starts fine and everything else seems to work ok. If anybody can help me at all your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

John

appreciated.

cannot help sorry but ive lost my instruction booklet as to what the buttons do on the fob, i only know how to set it and unset now, whats the right hand button for?

Pressing Green button on remote re sets system in theory.

if not try these

1 Remove and re fit the fuse for the alarm control (may re set)

2 Check to see if there is a reset/override switch fitted.

3 Check backup battery in sounder (if fitted) and remote batteries.

Hi, if your toad system is anything like my one then the right button can do one of many things in conjunction with the left button, the most usefull one is that if you press it immetiatly before you press the left button, it silences the chirp when you lock/ unlock the car. On my system, if you hold the right button for 3 seconds it also unlocks the boot. Also if you wanted to arm the car with just 2 stage sensors on, i.e without the ultrasound movement sensor, then you would press the left burron twice then the right button once.

Hope that brings back some memories from your manual.
