can anyone help please. when trying to start,the red led under the clock flashes repeatedly,then stops after about 2 mins. flashes once then 3 times.it is like this every time.spoke to ford and they want big money to even look at it.if anyone can help i would be greatfull as i need the car to get to work.

your key is not being recognised, do you have the red master key? and what year is the car.
Remove the column shrouds, check the 2 pin connector to the barrel antenna for the pick up coil.
If you are competant- check for continuity at the ECU plug for the pick up coil- should be afew ohms cable colours easily visable at the ECU.
If no continuity replace harness or pick up coil- easy to check which is at fault.
This will sort your problem.

if it won't work with the red key then you need it reprogrammed as a minimum (ford dealer)
